What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help sites remember things about your visit - like your preferences, whether you're signed in, and how you use the site - so the experience works smoothly and we can improve it over time.
Types of cookies we use
- Essential cookies - required for the site to work properly (sign-in, security, saving your cookie choices). These are always on and don't need your consent under UK GDPR / PECR.
- Analytics cookies - help us understand how visitors find and use BizBoxed so we can improve the site. These only load if you accept them.
- Marketing cookies - used to measure advertising performance and show relevant content on other platforms. These only load if you accept them.
What BizBoxed uses
We try to keep our cookie use to a minimum. Today we use:

Third-party cookies
When you accept analytics or marketing cookies, third-party providers may also set cookies:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd) - anonymised website analytics. Read Google's privacy policy.
- Clerk - our identity and authentication provider. Clerk sets essential session cookies only when you sign in to a BizBoxed account. These are not optional, because sign-in cannot work without them.
- Meta Pixel - not currently active. If we add it in the future, it will only load when marketing cookies are accepted.
How to change or withdraw consent
You can change your preferences at any time:
You can also clear cookies directly in your browser settings, or set your browser to refuse cookies. Note that essential cookies are required for the site to function - disabling them in your browser may break parts of BizBoxed.
How long cookies last
Cookie lifetimes are listed in the table above. Session cookies are deleted when you close the browser; persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
